There's no "I" in team

Thursday, August 8
Hargis, Louisiana

A woman who kept her husband's decomposing body
in their mobile home for a month won't face criminal
charges. Charles Foreman, 54, apparently died of natural
causes. Myra Foreman, 51, said she didn't report his
death because the face of the devil prevented her from
going through with funeral arrangements, authorities said.

I don't understand this story. Why just a "face"? And
notice that it is "a" devil not "The Devil". So
basically Satan sent one of his minions just to stop
some woman from burying her husband. And this devil only
bothers to show his face, probably becuase he thinks it
is a stupid and boring assignement. Come to think of it
that sounds so just like Clarence. Clarence is a very
lazy devil. He doesn't know that there is no "I" in
team. He never contributes to office pools. He doesn't
go the extra mile, step up to the plate, or give 150%.
Just last month he was written up for having "a poor
attitude, not being a team player, and lack of
enthusiasm." So when the supervisor sees the job order
for "Stop Trailer Trash from Burying Husband" he's
all "Ha! That little troublemaker Clarence gets this
one." Of course, Clarence is al like "Whatever" and
turns in this really lame "face only" performance. So
the woman's husband is lying there all dead and
everytime she walks over to bury him Clarence's face
appears and he says "Don't. Stop." and she's all "Well
that isn't very scary but I guess I should what the face
says because it might be The Devil although I would
think he would put a little more effort into it what
with him being the Prince of Darkness and all". So after
about a month Louise next door notices that she hasn't
seen Chuck out on the lawn sofa in a while and calls the
police but when they get there Clarence is out sneaking
a smoke so they don't see his face and don't believe
Myra when she tells them about it.

The End
