So, recently a lot of people have been talking about the “War on Christmas”
and I really don’t understand this entire argument. People say that by saying “happy holidays” what we actually
mean is, “go Satan! Down with all religion and let’s launch an attack on the Christians.” What I don’t
understand is, haven’t we been saying “happy holidays” for, like, decades now? When did a generic winter
greeting turn into an “attack” on religion?

2004 Election Notes
People who are functionally illiterate and have absolutely no comprehension of the most basic of issues get the exact
same vote as a guy with a PhD in economics. That's the major down side of democracy. As a commentator on TV said today, it
was a question of Wal-Mart vs Starbucks, and Wal-Mart won.

So, I know I'm only 20, but so far, nearly everyone I've met in my life has been a total flake. It might have to do with
the fact that I spent most off my life growing up in Boulder, the land of the inconsistent hypocrites, but I think it reflects

is a naval officer stationed in Naples, Italy. My fortune also comes from having a mother willing to foot the bill for airline
tickets. My mother, brother and family, and I have seen artistic treasures, architectural wonders, cultural oddities and beautiful
countryside. My brother, sister-in-law, and I have also learned that our mother is the ugly American.

I've been back from Europe about a week now. I had a great time. I thought
I'd share a few of my observations, call them Travel Tips for the Well Traveled.

On the Subject of Raging Incompetence

Is
it just me or are way too many pop stars bitching about internet piracy?
I recently saw a series of commercials on MTV featuring artists like
Britney Spears and Nelly telling fans to go out and buy their CDs because they work really hard on them and they need the
money because it is their job. Am I the only one who finds this utterly laughable?
