A Creepy Coincidence

Alabama
Wednesday, November 20

Six Mile - Two sisters, each driving a Jeep on a rural highway in Bibb County, were killed when they collided head-on. State troopers said Sheila Wentworth, 45, and her sister, Doris Hall, 51, were on the road for family visits when the wreck occurred. Hall's husband, Billy Joe, 45, also was killed.

Aaahhh! Creepy! This is one of those stories that isn't really funny, but just generates a lot of questions. I mean, do you think they were vsiting EACH OTHER? Even creepier. Like, Sheila was at home cleaning up the kitchen when she thought, "I'll surprise Doris with a little visit." And then Doris and Billy Joe were all, like, "Hey! We haven't seen Sheila in a while. What say we tool on down to her house?". And then SURPRISE! The hit each other head-on and DIE! What are the odds? I mean, here we all are worrying about terrorist attacks and bilogical weapons and snipers, and not once did any of us say to ourselves "Wow. I wonder if it's safe to drive over to see my sister? I mean, she could decide to come and see me at the same time and she could run head-on into me and we could DIE! On second thought, I think I'll just have another cup of coffee.

And to top it all off this story is just SOOOO Alabama. Six Mile in Bibb County in jeeps containing Sheila, Doris and Billy Joe. Oh, and State Troopers. Wasn't this the plot of that 1976 movie starring Burt Reynolds and Lonnie Anderson? I'm sure it was.
