Ding dong! We brought Jello! |
A while back I promised to share my "New Joys of Jell-O" pictures with you as soon as I got my scanner. So here they are!
The first one is David's favorite. He calls it "Ding dong! We brought Jell-O!". And they look mighty pleased with themselves,
don't they? According to the book, this couple is going to "turn a casual get together with neighbors into a memorable evening."
Well one thing is certainly memorable: Betty Sue on the left there managed to make a dessert THE EXACT SAME COLOR AS HER OUTFIT!
Now that's memorable. The dessert is called "Strawberries Romanoff". I have had strawberries romanoff many a time and do not
recall that they looked like that. But I could be wrong. The book also explains why you should bring Jell-O desserts to a
party. Because they have that "certain special look." They certainly do! They look just like her pantsuit ensemble! Isn't
that special! But if you read the recipe you find out why Betty Sue's Jell-O Strawberries Romanoff is always so popular. It
contains Cointreau and brandy. Now that's my kind of Jell-O!

Celebrate your special day the Jello way! |
The second picture is called Jell-O Wedding, and is my personal favorite. These poor sad newlyweds are forced to smile
happily as their all Jell-O buffet melts into pools of goo. Who thought an outdoor Jell-O buffet was a good idea? The salads
featured are Salmon Dill Mousse, Tangy Cheese, and Fresh Fruit. I'll bet that cheese is REALLY tangy after sitting out in
the hot sun all afternoon. Although since the recipe asks you to stir together lemon jell-o, bleu cheese, cream cheese and
Dream Whip, I doubt a little sun could really do much harm to the taste at least. One question though: glasses of champagne,
or Champagne Jell-O cups? Sadly, the book doesn't say. You'll just have to decide for yourselves.
