Hold on for this one. It really is shocking. I mean no one would have seen this one coming. From USA today:

Wow. It's confirmed. You were not just imagining that your New York cab driver was a half-crazed foreigner who hated his life and, by extension, you. Now you have proof. And just think how easy this study was, and how little work this researcher had to do. He could have either a) taken a lot of cabs around the city, and asked the drivers where they were born. Or b) sent out a questionnaire to taxi companies. Well, I have done a study on taxis too. Actually several studies since I have taken cabs almost everywhere in the US. And I have results too.
